Giving Your Family The Protection They Deserve
By now you've seen that Breiner Law Firm is something special and because you love your family, and want to keep them out of Court and out of conflict when something happens to you, you are ready to take the first steps to get a plan in place. I think that’s a great idea.
You know your family deserves the kind of protection, guidance and love we provide for a lifetime.
Now, as you get started, it is important that you know how I work because we do things a bit differently here at Legal Mama than at other law firms. That is why my clients love us so much.
Your Appointment Options
You have three options for your next step:
You can schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation to learn more about me and get a few preliminary questions answered.
You can schedule your Family Wealth Planning Session and complete the pre-session homework so that you come in prepared to be educated, informed, and make empowered decisions for the people you love.
You can schedule your Estate Plan Checkup and Review if you have an existing plan so that you can get educated on whether your existing plan still works for your family, or if you have gaps that you must fill to have the peace of mind knowing your family is covered.
I OFFER WEEKEND APPOINTMENTS FOR BOTH CONSULTATIONS AND FAMILY WEALTH PLANNING SESSIONS.
Choose the option that’s best for you and make sure to choose Atlanta Metro or Twin Cities Metro depending on your location. If you do choose the Family Wealth Planning Session, please make sure you’ve read up below on what we’ll do together in that meeting before you come in, so that you come in prepared to be educated, informed and make empowered decisions for the people you love.
How Long is the Family Wealth Planning Session?
When you schedule your personal Family Wealth Planning Session, I block 2 hours on my calendar so we can focus entirely on you and your family during this time. I will send you an electronic package of information to complete before our time together, which will help you begin the process of getting your legal and financial life in order. During our meeting together, I will guide you to gently look at what would happen for your loved ones and with your assets if something were to happen to you. And then, we’ll look at what you want to happen and help you create a roadmap to get that plan in place as easily as possible. Clients routinely say “Wow, if we had known how easy this would be, we would have done it years ago!” after meeting with me. As a busy mom, to me that is the highest praise!
How Much Does The Family Wealth Planning Session Cost?
The Family Wealth Planning Session is $750 or if you have existing estate planning documents that you want me to review and potentially incorporate, this meeting is valued at $950. If during your planning session you choose to move forward and I create a comprehensive plan for you, that planning fee is applied to your legal fees for your lifetime estate plan we create or the updates your estate plan.
In some circumstances, we will waive the planning session fee and instead you can secure your appointment time with a credit card number to the exclusion of others. In such cases, so long as you keep your appointment, nothing will be charged on your card. If you must cancel prior to your appointment, I ask that you do so at least one week ahead of time so that I may open my calendar to other waiting families.
I'm a mom and I get that things come up! In such a situation where you must cancel, here are some more details:
- Your credit card will not be charged if you cancel 7 days or more in advance unless you fail to reschedule your appointment within 30 days of your cancellation. If so, the $750 credit will remain on your account for future planning.
- Cancellations within 7 days or less of your scheduled session will result in the office charging the $750 fee and credit will remain on your account for future planning.
- Cancelling or rescheduling more than two times will result in us charging the $750 fee and credit will remain on your account for future planning.
- If you cannot keep your appointment and you choose not to reschedule, your credit card would be charged the $750 planning fee.
I understand that this policy of securing your appointment with a credit card may seem unique. So is my law firm.
I provide my very best service to those families who are looking for a long-term relationship with their trusted advisor. I expend most of my energy providing an exceedingly high degree of service to my existing clients and limit the number of new clients I see each week. As a result, I must secure your appointment time so that if something comes up and you can't attend your appointment, I will have enough advance notice to open the slot to a waiting family.
What To Do Prior To Your Family Wealth Planning Session
After scheduling your appointment, I will send you a number of items via email. You will receive your Family Wealth Inventory & Assessment and other important information that you will want to review prior to your personal Family Wealth Planning Session. I must have your Family Wealth Inventory & Assessment submitted at least 2 days prior to your Session or I will need to reschedule your Session. If I am required to reschedule your session for this reason, you will be charged the session fee and it will remain as a credit on your account for your future planning.
I will also give you member access to the site here which gives entry to the Family Wealth Planning Session Homebase (you will see a login option at the top right corner of the menu above). I highly recommend using the resources here!
Feel free to call me at any time if you need assistance completing your Assessment or have any questions at all. If you have existing estate planning documents, please make sure that I have your existing documents in my office at least a week before your meeting so that we can review them prior to meeting with you.
What To Expect The Day Of Your Family Wealth Planning Session
On the day of your meeting, please expect to spend up to 2 hours with me. This initial meeting with me has two purposes:
1. To identify whether there is a good fit between you and me, as your attorney, as I will become your Personal Family Lawyer® and...
2. To educate you about the law and what would happen if you died with your current (or no) plan in place.
By looking at what would happen under your current plan, you can identify what you would want to happen differently, and then together with me as your Personal Family Lawyer, I will provide guidance to make the decisions that are necessary (including choosing your own fee) to give you the peace of mind of knowing your family would be out of Court, and out of conflict when something happens to you.
Assuming that you and I determine that there is a good fit between my firm, and your family, AND that you identify specific ways you would want things to happen (that are different than what would currently happen if something happened to you), you and I,will design a plan for your family right away.
What Happens Next?
Once I have completed the design of your plan, you will review some documentation for me and then schedule a signing meeting for you to sign your planning documents (approximately 4-6 weeks later). Once you sign your planning documents, we will review your assets for the purpose of ensuring that everything you own will be titled for maximum protection. Your assets and your family are then protected as discussed during your design meeting.
I see this as only the beginning of our relationship.
At our final meeting during the planning stage of our relationship, we verify that all of your asset transfers are moving forward on track whether we are taking the lead or you are taking the lead with my guidance. We review your asset spreadsheet together and ensure all of your questions are answered. Of course, if they aren't or they become cloudy later on, I am always available to answer your questions at any time in the future. And, there's no charge for that!
What Happens After I Take My Estate Planning Binder Home?
After the planning phase is complete, the maintenance phase of your plan will begin. At no additional charge, I review your plan at least every three years and keep you informed about changes in the law and about other issues that affect your family and your wealth. And, if you participate in one of my Legal Mama Membership Programs, you will have an opportunity to review your plan on an annual basis, and I will provide your family with a number of other valuable services such as complimentary updates to your estate plan, and so much more.
Finally, I am always here for you and I don't charge you for phone calls or emails. I welcome your communications! You'll be amazed at how easy and painless the entire planning process will be for your family.
